Relocation to bigger premises and new markets are part of Freightlink Europe’s drive towards greater diversity to help make the business more ‘recession proof’, reports Lucy Radley. FREIGHTLINK Europe’s joint managing director, Lesley O’Brien, is well known across the transport industry thanks to her training and campaigning exploits. The company itself, however, is talked about rather less, and since it has been through some big changes recently, it seemed like a good time to set that right.
A family business, Freightlink Europe was started by Lesley and husband Kevin O’Brien in 1995. Until recently based in Bradford, it moved to Halifax in April 2022, having long since outgrown its original premises.
Ostensibly a general haulier, these days that term undersells what Freightlink Europe really does, having branched out into more specialist areas since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
