Renault Trucks got its first trucks onto the GIF Transport fleet operating out of Inverurie, and the feedback is excellent. IN EARLY November 2022 Just Stop Oil protests brought the M25 to a standstill as demonstrators climbed the gantries over the motorway. Mind you, ask a truck driver and they will tell you that stationary traffic on the M25 is hardly news.
Yet the actions of a few can spread far and wide; 548 miles further north in Inverurie, west of Aberdeen, a live feed from the Mantis forward-facing camera in one of GIF Transport’s trucks is up on Kevin Lawrie’s computer. He and transport coordinator Laurence Pye are keeping a close watch on proceedings.
The driver is on an A-road just off the M25 near Enfield and is trying to reach a backload. All Kevin can see is the back end of a trailer.
