EXACTLY 12 months ago news broke that a construction business had signed a deal to take on two zero tailpipe emission FE Electrics mounted with Thompsons tipper bodies to be used for local operations.
The company that placed the landmark order was Blackpool-based Fox Group. At the time. Paul Fox, managing director of the family-run business said the ‘order marks the start of the electrification of the fleet’.
Both Volvo FE Electrics duly arrived in March 2022. The battery-powered 6x2s will operate out of a recycling facility on the Enterprise Business Park in Leyland, where charging infrastructure has been installed.
