Now well into his second year at the Scania Dundee dealership, John Ramsay is looking to push on and increase workshop throughout. He speaks to Kevin Swallow about his association with Dundee and his plans for growth.
BACK IN the late 1990s Alldays, who had a chain of convenience stores across the UK and who originated in Scotland under the Watson & Philip name in the late 1960s, ran a sizable distribution warehouse in Dundee.
It ran a fleet of Scania trucks and supplied many of the 200 stores across Scotland at that time. In 1999, to service the trucks, the manufacturer partnered with the company to set up a vehicle maintenance unit, also known as a VMU.
Alongside the VMU, the manufacturer began taking in more work from other customers.
