INDUSTRY charity Transaid is reaching out to Scottish Road Haulage operators to attend the inaugural Scottish Transaid Dinner scheduled to be held in the Bothwell Bridge Hotel, near Hamilton, on the evening of Thursday 15 September 2022 with a 6.45 for 7.00pm start.
The event, which is seen as filling the vacuum created by the once popular Scottish haulage trade dinners held in Glasgow, will also double as a fund-raiser for Transaid, the industry charity and in charge of the auctioneer’s hammer will be ex-Glasgow police officer John McKelvie. Speakers during the evening will include George McNeill, famed for being the fastest Powderhall sprinter!
The dinner has been organised by a committee headed by recently retired Scottish Traffic Commissioner Joan Aitken who is now National Chair of Transaid, and includes Nicola Robertson (Malcolm) and Grangemouth based Lynsey Mitchell, Scotland’s Transport Woman of the Year 2022.
