OBAN based MacLennan Distribution has acquired local haulier Waltons of Oban, making it the largest employer in the west of Scotland town.
The company said the absorption of the transport firm also meant it had the largest number of vehicles of any logistics company in the area, strengthening its ability to provide services to customers throughout the Western Isles and beyond.
Stewart MacLennan, director of MacLennan Distribution, said: “From our first inception as a company, the local community has been at the heart of everything we seek to achieve.”
Eric Walton, former owner of Waltons of Oban, which holds a licence authorising seven HGVs, said he was proud of the services it had provided for 20 years.
