VOLVO has taken its FH I-Save concept one step further to increase optimisation of the engine’s combustion process.
The overall weight and internal friction have been reduced, while the turbo charger and oil pump have received upgrades and the filters for oil, fuel and air now have patented refinements.
Smoother, smarter and faster, at the heart of I-Save is the 13-litre engine with Volvo’s turbo compound technology, D13TC. The engine can run at high efficiency over the entire speed range, with the best result from 900 to 1,300rpm, explained the manufacturer.
