THE A77, which provides a key direct link between Glasgow and Cairnryan, had the town of Maybole hosting a section of the A77 running through the town’s narrow high street.
A new 5km bypass on the A77 will provide better journey times for businesses accessing Scotland’s main port for Ireland.
Approximately 10% of vehicles using the A77 are HGVs.
The £29 million construction contract was awarded on 12 April 2019. With traffic now moved on to the new bypass, the contractor will remain on site for a period of time to undertake necessary finishing, snagging and seasonal landscaping works.
