Animal feeds haulier H Walton is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year; a business built on family bonds, loyalty and smart trading, discovers David Craik.
IF ANY family was going to make a success of the competitive world of rural transport, then it had to be the Waltons.
But we’re not talking about the family from Virginia, USA who popped up on our TV screens some would say far too regularly in the 70s and 80s. We’re referring to H Walton Ltd; specialist corn and animal feed merchants from Old Goole, East Yorkshire, who this year celebrate their 50th year of operation.
Just like their TV namesakes, their longevity has been built on strong family ties and loyal relationships with their livestock farming customers.
