GASREC has acquired five Bio-LNG (liquified natural gas) refuelling stations and four cryogenic trailers, following the sudden withdrawal of BOC from the LNG UK road transport market, which has forced some hauliers to mothball their gas-fuelled tractor units.
Two Scottish operators mainly running Iveco Stralis 6×2 tractor units on the ‘cleaner’ fuel have been left stranded with no alternative but to park trucks ‘against the wall.’
Andrew Malcolm, CEO of The Malcolm Group, told Transport News that BOC’s decision has forced the cessation of gas truck trials at the Linwood company.
