Transaid has launched its 2021 UK Cycle Challenge with a 170-mile ‘Way of the Roses’ coast-to-coast challenge.
The route between Morecambe in Lancashire and Bridlington, East Yorkshire, will take place on 24-26 September 2021. Money raised will go in support of Transaid’s work in sub-Saharan Africa improving road safety and access to healthcare for communities across the region.
Florence Bearman, Transaid’s head of fundraising, said: “We were bitterly disappointed not to be able to go ahead with our planned events last year, and so we are absolutely thrilled to launch this exciting new fundraiser.
“Our cycle challenges are always a sell-out, with a real sense of camaraderie among the riders – but most importantly because they are a fantastic chance for supporters to raise essential funds for our lifesaving programmes – a cause close to all our hearts. We cannot wait to welcome people back to the saddle in September.”
This year’s challenge is sponsored by the UK Warehousing Association.
