DAF TRUCKS has introduced the LF Electric, a 19 tonne fully electric distribution truck for urban applications. The vehicle offers a range of up to 280 kilometres.
DAF was the first European truck manufacturer to commercialise a full electric tractor: the CF Electric for supermarket distribution and inter-urban transportation. More recently the manufacturer expanded its EV range with the 6×2 CF Electric rigid with steered rear axle (GVW up to 29 tonnes design), aimed at ‘zero emission’ waste collection.
The LF Electric is DAF’s third and latest product to feature a full-electric powertrain. The e-motor provides 250kW of nominal power (370kW peak) and a torque of 1.200Nm (3.700Nm peak). Power comes from a lithium ferro phosphate (LFP) battery pack. This offers the LF Electric 280 ‘zero emission’ kilometres.
