THE ARRIVAL of the first right hand drive Iveco S-WAY tractor units in Britain has coincided with the recently confirmed appointment of Forfar headquartered AM Phillip Trucktech Ltd as sales and parts dealer for the entire Iveco Truck & Van range throughout the whole of Scotland.
That’s certainly the view of Rob McWilliam who, just over a year ago, took on the role of managing director of the AM Phillip Trucktech Group, with six main distributor bases at Forfar, Dundee, Broxburn, Glenrothes, Dingwall and now Glasgow. Here the company has taken on the vehicle sales and parts deliveries from Commercial Vehicle Fleet Services (previously CFS Glasgow) with sales staff now located at newly appointed authorised repairers, McKinnon & Forbes Ltd in Paisley. Additionally, Macleay Motor Engineering near Kilmarnock and CVFS in Baillieston, will provide service support to customers as authorised repairs as well.
‘It is unusual for one independent dealer to be covering the entire Scottish market for a major truck and van manufacturer,’ said Rob. ‘And the recent move west represents quite an undertaking for our 65 year old company which until now only represented Iveco on the eastern half of Scotland.
