Traffic Commissioners really don’t like bridge strikes, especially as Network Rail is now actively reporting hauliers and their drivers direct to the industry’s arbiter. Bridge strikes cost the taxpayer millions of pounds every year, and the penalties for the driver and their employer are severe.
