ON 1 JANUARY 2021 the Brexit transition period with the EU will end and the UK will operate a full, external border as a sovereign nation. This means that controls will be placed on the movement of goods between the UK and the EU. The new border controls will be introduced in three stages up until 1 July 2021 and each involve several complex processes which will be new to most businesses and individuals within the UK, warns RHA.
