A new location and growth in truck rental has helped TIP Trailer Services increase its presence in Scotland. Kevin Swallow speaks to Mike Furnival about investment and future plans, while remaining open during the Covid-19 pandemic.
THROUGHOUT the coronavirus pandemic TIP Trailers Services kept its 119 sites across Europe open. In a company statement on 26 March 2020, three days after the UK government implemented its lockdown and with ‘transport’ designated a key sector, TIP Trailer Services stated that ‘protecting our employees and following stricter measures in the way we are conducting business’ was vital, as too was its commitment to ‘supporting our customers as good as we can’.
With more than 113,000 rental assets as well as third party maintenance agreements through the European network, it was some achievement to keep all the sites open.
In the UK and the Republic of Ireland there are 15 workshops, with 500 employees looking after 16,000 rental products while maintaining an additional 30,000 assets and 800 trucks and trailers through Grayrentals.
