In the ‘vans and delivery trucks’ sector the electric MAN eTGE was described as Europe’s most sustainable vehicle
Every two years, the awards give recognition to companies and products from the commercial vehicle industry which combine economic success with social responsibility and environmental protection in a special way, and whose sustainable actions lead to additional growth and prosperity.
The all electric 26 tonne MAN eTGM distribution vehicle is powered by a 264kW electric motor which provides a maximum torque of 3,100Nm. Auxiliary units such as power steering, air compressors and the air conditioning system are operated electrically, controlled as required by the energy management system and are thus energy saving. By means of brake energy recovery the kinetic energy of the vehicle when coasting is converted into electrical energy and returned to the battery storage. The power for the truck is delivered by high performance lithium-ion batteries from the Volkswagen Group.
