Every year truck enthusiast Paul Heneachon looks forward to attending the Annual Ayrshire Road Run that brings together over 140 vintage vehicles running through the lovely Ayrshire Countryside.
THE TRADITIONAL two day ‘ARR’ event starts off at Ayr’s Low Green with a static display, then the fleet travels along the Ayrshire coast to the seaside town of Largs, continuing back down through various villages along the way to its next port of call, Rugby Park in Kilmarnock.
Early afternoon, the trip continues south along the A77 down to Wigtownshire for an overnight stop. This involves an evening meal and a night of light entertainment down in the small picturesque ferry port of Portpatrick. The following day, sees the convoy then travelling through the Dumfries and Galloway region to a final gathering place at the M74 Lockerbie Truckstop.
