THE SECOND running of the Charity Truck Show in Grantown Upon Spey was held on 18 May. The event, Trucking In2 Grantown, was launched last year by heavy plant operator and former truck driver Martin Grant following traumatic brain surgery successfully carried out on his 24 year old daughter Sarah two years previously.
Both wanted to repay those who had helped to save Sarah’s life and at the same time raise funds for other local charities in addition to Friends of the Neuro Ward at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
From a standing start, Martin and his team of event organisers attracted 100 entries for last year, but this time they managed 190 from all over Scotland and some from further afield making this arguably the second largest commercial vehicle show in Scotland, which is a great achievement in such a short time scale, writes Ian Lawson.
