WITH OVER 100 years transport history (103 to be exact, 1916 to 2019) and many accolades of note helping establish their lineage, Hayton Coulthard Transport Ltd of Twynholm, Dumfries and Galloway, have accrued many remarkable road haulage achievements.
Peter Coulthard started the haulage company during WW1 naming his new business venture after his eldest son, Hayton. With a rather different and by today’s standards odd choice of vehicle, this being a motorbike and sidecar, his first road haulage venture was to deliver newspapers in and around Galloway.
Peter then branched out, purchasing his first small lorry and started collecting milk from the surrounding farms for a local dairy based in Kirkcudbright.
