JOHN G Russell (Transport) Ltd has been granted Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) accreditation by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC).
AEO, an internationally recognised quality mark, indicates that a company’s role in the supply chain is secure and reliable, and that its customs controls are efficient, compliant and meet EU standards.
Russell was awarded AEO status after a five month review process by HMRC, which included an audit of the company’s internal controls and procedures, customs records, systems and IT security.
The AEO accreditation applies to Russell’s International trade activity which is focused at the company’s Hillington, Glasgow site. Gaining AEO accreditation brings numerous benefits to Russell and its customers, including simplified customs procedures and the right to ‘fast-track’ shipments with fewer physical and document based controls.
