THE UNCERTAINTY surrounding Brexit is not putting a damper on the mood of optimism at Renault Trucks. With a new senior team in place at its British operation, the company is confident it can boost its overall performance: and some of that growth is set to come from Scotland, writes Steve Banner.
‘We’re taking back market share in Scotland,’ said Carlos Rodrigues, who became Renault’s UK managing director in October having previously served as chief financial officer at Volvo Group Trucks UK. ‘We’re on the right trajectory and we’re really delighted.’
The company has made a substantial investment in the Scottish market, acquiring Border Trucks at Bellshill in October 2017 which subsequently became Renault Trucks Scotland.
